Our patent pending design, which allows for the multi-reversibility of SL8™ supports our quest in creating cases that are unlike any other cases in the market today.
The meaning behind the name SL8™ is multi-fold. Pronounced [slāte] the name relates back to a tablet – which is defined as a flat slab or surface. The letters S and L relate back to the name of the company – Slick Lizard. The number eight (8), ties back to the number of fabric pieces it takes to achieve the unique multi-reversible qualities of SL8™.
We wanted our logo to be modern, cool, fun, and stylish. We also wanted it to be a play on the idea of being able to change color based on you mood or environment, much like a gecko or chameleon can.
Slick Lizard Design is launching the SL8™ brand with the Tablet Edition neoprene sleeve. There are four different color-ways currently available.
The SL8™ Tablet Edition that is currently available is sized to fit an Apple iPad Air, Apple iPad Air 2, or the newly introduced Apple 9.7” iPad Pro, as well as similarly sized tablets or eReaders such as Samsung’s Galaxy Tab A 9.7” and Galaxy Tab S2 9.7”. For your reference, the dimensions of iPad Air are 9.4” (240 mm) x 6.6” (169.5 mm) x .29” (7.5 mm). The iPad Air 2 is slightly thinner at .24” (6.1 mm). The dimensions of the 9.7” iPad Air Pro are identical to the iPad Air 2.
Although you can insert your tablet either face up or face down, we suggest sliding your tablet into a covered/flapped pocket with the screen facing down. This will allow for the most cushioning against the glass portion of your tablet. We suggest using the open pockets (without flaps) for your unbreakable items, such as a notepad, papers or business cards. Since these open pockets don’t have a protective flap, we do not suggest placing your tablet here.
We’re sorry to hear that your device is broken. While our cases are cushioned and offer good impact and scratch resistance, we can’t guarantee that they will prevent all damage to the device. If you drop or hit them hard enough, or hit them against a sharp or protruding element your device may still be damaged. Our Limited Warranty covers only Slick Lizard Design products. It does not cover damage to any device or personal property.
Our products are designed in New York and manufactured in China.
SL8™ is constructed out of neoprene combined with stretch polyester Lycra. We chose neoprene as our primary material because of its inherent cushioning qualities, its flexibility and stretchiness, water resistance, and because it’s a super cool on-trend material. Combined with polyester Lycra, we can create endless colors and patterns.
If you get some dirt on your SL8™ you best bet is to spot clean it by hand using some mild soap and warm water and let it air dry. Never machine wash, bleach, machine dry, or dry clean or iron your SL8™.

Our products have a ninety-day warranty from the original purchase date with proof of purchase from an authorized reseller.
To begin a warranty claim, write your full name and the current date (month/day/year) on a piece of paper and place your case near it. Take a quality photo of the case, honing in on the damaged area, being sure to capture your name and date in the photo also.
Next, email email@example.com with the following:
- Your photo of the damaged case (showing your name and date as described above)
- A copy of your purchase receipt showing store name or Slick Lizard Design order number
- A brief description of the issue
- Your ship-to address, phone number and email address
- A full description of your case, including device type, product name and color. For example – iPad 2/SL8 Tablet Edition/Camo.
Providing all of the information above will help expedite the review of your claim. We will evaluate your claim (typically within 7-10 business days) to determine if it qualifies for a warranty replacement under our Limited Warranty and will contact you via email regarding the status of the claim.
