At Slick Lizard Design we believe you can in fact build a better “mousetrap”. We are constantly looking at the way products are constructed and how they are being used in order to determine if we can improve on an existing design or create something totally new, functional, innovative and cool.

Guiding Principles

Adapted from The Macintosh Way, by Guy Kawasaki, the guiding principles of Slick Lizard Design are built on two pillars. The first pillar is about doing the right thing. This boils down to focusing on fostering a positive work environment, developing great products, exceeding customer expectations and implementing effective marketing campaigns. The second pillar is about doing things right. This translates to paying attention to the details of running a business and building a strong foundation for success, brick by brick.

Lucy Pellegrino

Lucy Pellegrino, the Founder of Slick Lizard Design, LLC., has experience launching and marketing hundreds of products for some of the world’s top brands. With a passion for good design and an expensive electronics habit, Lucy was tired of settling for cases and bags that fell short of her expectations in some way. She decided to take matters into her own hands and started deconstructing a closet full of castoff cases and bags to see how they were made and how they might be improved.

Over several months, cases were ripped apart, ideas were thought out and sketched, patterns were created, fabric was cut, glue guns were loaded and Lucy dusted off an old sewing machine and taught herself how to sew at her kitchen table. As funny as it sounds this is in fact a true story and how the first SL8™ prototypes were born.

Without a creative outlet Lucy would be like a fish out of water. Inspired by beautiful things and the smell of crayons, markers and glue, no design project is too big (or too small) for Lucy to tackle.
